The third ADAC MX Masters event in Aichwald in Baden-Württemberg will be an extremely tough challenge for local rider Lars Reuther (KTM Sarholz Racing Team) from Pleidelsheim which is just 30 kilometres away from the track. The German aims to prove himself on the 1,755-metre 'In den Horben' grass track that is run by MSC Eiserne Hand (28th-29th June), achieving his goal of a place in the top five at least. However, that could be a very difficult task for the 21-year-old Masters rider, who just narrowly missed lifting the title in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup last year. Austrian rider Pascal Rauchenecker (Cofain Racing Team) rode past current champion Dennis Ullrich (KTM Sarholz Racing Team) on Whit weekend at the event in Ried, overtaking him in the rankings, now the Saarlouis-based rider intends to do everything in his power to reclaim the lead in the overall standings in Aichwald. To make things trickier, three other world championship riders will join the high-calibre field. Three more tough opponents - Clement Desalle (Rockstar Energy Suzuki Factory Racing), David Philippaerts (Yamaha Motor Germany, AC Motecby STC) and Max Nagl (KMP Honda Racing) - will line-up on the track south of Stuttgart and will certainly not make it easy for the opposition.
Dutchman Calvin Vlaanderen (KTM Bodo Schmidt Motorsports) has clearly positioned himself ahead of second-placed rider Thomas Kjer Olsen from Denmark (STC Racing Honda) with a 19-point lead in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. However, the 17-year-old cannot afford to relax on the cushion afforded by the large points difference. Spaniard Jorge Zaragoza (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) had to miss the Ried fixture due to injury but is fit again and raring to go in his fight back to the front. Polish rider Tomasz Wysocki (KTM riders) is another candidate to be taken seriously in class two. The 20-year-old was impressive in the ADAC MX Masters in Austria with a race win and a Red Bull Holeshot, securing third place in the overall standings.
After his motorbike suffered a technical defect and he himself took a tumble at the last Masters event, the Finn Kim Savaste (KTM Red Bull Factory) is in third place in the ADAC MX Junior Cup, 13 points behind closest rival Dane Mikkel Haarup (MEFO Sport Racing Team, KTM) from Denmark. He intends to live up to his reputation as a high-flyer at the 'In den Horben' track and retake the championship lead.
The ADAC will again be providing a support programme with various highlights for children and adults alike in addition to the sport to be enjoyed on track. There will be the ADAC Young Generation Suzuki quad trail, the ADAC Insurance bouncy castle for kids, plus numerous stalls selling things and stalls for fans. In addition, Suzuki will be on hand with its spectacular 4x4 Roadeo track. The paddock is open to everyone, and spectators are invited to exchange a few words with their idols, talk with team managers and watch mechanics at work.
