Motocross fans in Germany's south west have something to really look forward to this coming weekend (23rd to 24th August) when the ADAC MX Masters guests at the Gaildorf track, about 60 kilometres northeast of Stuttgart. Apart from a number of world championship riders, many talented juniors will also be lining up in the junior classes in Europe's most popular motocross series. It will be interesting to see who will be the biggest thorn in the side of current ADAC MX Masters champion and overall leader in the standings Dennis Ullrich.
Ullrich has amassed 202 points to Marcus Schiffer's (GER / Team Suzuki Waldmann) 171. Pascal Rauchenecker (AUT / HSV Ried, Cofain Racing KTM, 153 points) is ranked third ahead of Swiss rider Jeremy Seewer (Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe, 145 points). Frenchman Sébastien Pourcel (KTM Sarholz Racing Team) is currently in fifth place on 129 points. Perhaps local rider Maik Schaller from nearby Rudersberg will also secure a decent ranking in the Masters class.
Spectators can expect to see some exciting racing in the junior classes as well. 17-year-old Henry Jacobi (GER / KTM Racing Team Sarholz), who has been sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation for the past three years, currently heads the overall standings in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. Danish teenager Mikkel Haarup (KTM, Mefo Sport Racing Team) leads in the ADAC MX Junior Cup.
A press conference will be held in the Gaildorf VIP area regarding this year's team for the Motocross of Nations (MX of Nations) at 6:30 pm on Saturday evening. The World Team Championship is to be decided on the weekend of September 27th-28th at Kegums in Latvia. Team Germany's final line-up will be announced in Gaildorf. Max Nagl (HRC Honda), Dennis Ullrich (KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and Marcus Schiffer (Team Suzuki Waldmann) are prime candidates for nomination. For the first time in 66 years and thus for the first time ever in the Motocross of Nations, Germany succeeded in winning the title of Team World Champions back in 2012.
In addition to enjoying the dirt bike action out on track, fans attending the ADAC MX Masters can look forward to an extensive entertainment programme at the event. There will be the ADAC Young Generation Suzuki quadbike track and the ADAC Insurance bouncy castle to keep younger visitors entertained. In addition, numerous stalls for fans and a Suzuki 4x4 Roadeo Park will be erected at the MSC Gaildorf's track. Access to the paddock is open to one and all, and fans can come along and have a chat with their idols, talk to team managers and watch the mechanics at work. Admission to the ADAC MX Masters in Gaildorf is free for children under sixteen years, while a weekend ticket for adults costs 28 euros. Day tickets are also available.
Motorvision television will broadcast all the highlights from the ADAC MX Masters in Gaildorf at 5:30 pm on August 31st. Fans of Europe's most popular motocross series can watch the most exciting scenes and best moments from the fixture in a half-hour magazine programme complete with commentary.
