Strong field of riders in 2014 ADAC MX Masters : Top European and world championship riders in line up

Crack motocross riders are in the line-up for the 2014 ADAC MX Masters season. ADAC event organisers are pleased to have reached the tenth anniversary of the series this year and delighted that the big demand for the limited number of starting numbers continues unabated. Last year's champion, Dennis Ullrich, who is just 20-years old will be contesting the motocross world championship series this year and defending his title along with his team, KTM Racing Sarholz. But his task will certainly not be easy, as he will be up against stiff competition right away at the season opener on the weekend of April 26th-27th in Fürstlich Drehna.

Ullrich was involved in a number of thrilling scraps last year with former French world championship rider Sébastien Pourcel (KTM Sarholz Racing Team). The title decider between the two top riders went to the wire in the last race at Holzgerlingen, so the 29-year old Frenchman will be out for revenge in 2014 after narrowly losing the title. The established crop of international riders include Swiss ace Jeremy Seewer (Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe), Danish rider Nikolaj Larsen (KMP Honda Repsol Racing Team), the Czech Filip Neugebauer and Belgian Kevin Wouts (both Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil).

German rider Marcus Schiffer (Team Suzuki Waldmann) is back in harness once again after a year's absence due to injury. He demonstrated his talent in masterful style in 2012, as ADAC MX Masters champion and team world champion. Austrian rider Pascal Rauchenecker (Cofein Racing KTM) is also fit again. He would very much like to be among the front-runners and mix it with fellow Austrian and 2012 MX3 world champion, Matthias Walkner. Grégory Aranda, lining up on a Kawasaki for Sturm Racing is another potential title contender. The Frenchman achieved two points-scoring finishes last season in the world championship heats in France. Specialist on sand Marc de Reuver (BT Sport, Honda) will also want to build on his success in the ADAC MX Masters. The Dutchman won the first Masters race in 2013 at Tensfeld, showing that he is still a force to be reckoned with in the MX1 world championship final despite his 31 years.

Everyone in the motocross scene is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the young guns, who are now moving up from the ADAC MX Youngster Cup and were previously top dogs in that series. The Germans Dominique Thury (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil), Lars Reuther (KTM Sarholz Racing Team), Ron Noffz (Kalli Racing Team) and Davide von Zitzewitz (Bvz Racing Team, KTM) plus champion Boris Maillard (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) from France must all now gain some initial experience of competing in a higher class in the ADAC MX Masters. Anyone interested in perusing the entire field of drivers in Europe's most popular motocross series can find all the starting lists tabulated at www.adac.de/mx-masters. Terrific riders and promising young stars will also see action in the junior classes - ADAC MX Youngster Cup and ADAC MX Junior Cup.
