Current champion Dennis Ullrich (KTM Sarholz Racing Team) intends to wrap up the championship before the end of the season during the seventh and penultimate ADAC MX Masters fixture at the Holzgerlingen track in Baden-Württemberg (September 6th-7th). The 21-year-old achieved victory overall in Europe's most popular motocross racing series in 2013 at the 1,845-metre Schützenbühlring track belonging to KfV Kalteneck eV and currently has a lead of 37 points in the overall standings on his toughest competitor Marcus Schiffer (Team Suzuki Waldmann). Saarlouis-based rider Ullrich has had an outstanding season so far with two wins in the daily standings and two podiums. His goal for the next race weekend - an early decision in the battle for the title. "I'm lining up as a local rider in Holzgerlingen. I'm a member of the club there and frequently train at the Holzgerlingen track. So naturally, I hope that will give me an advantage and aim to do everything possible to achieve victory on the day and end the points thriller before the last event in Teutschenthal," said a bullish 'Ulle', confident of victory. Still, Schiffer is also itching to lift the title and will not make things easy for the current front-runner in the ADAC MX Masters, who told us: "I've won the race series twice so far and naturally hope to secure my hat-trick. I've been competing here for some ten years now and am one of the most experienced riders, so another title would definitely be a dream come true."
In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, the tide took a decisive turn at the last ADAC MX Masters event in Gaildorf, Baden-Württemberg, in favour of Henry Jacobi (KTM Sarholz Racing Team). The 17-year-old secured the top spot with two wins on the day at Aichwald and in Jauer. He also impressed at the Auf der Wacht track in the Stuttgart area, finishing in second place on the podium. However, his two main rivals, Calvin Vlaanderen from the Netherlands (KTM Bodo Schmidt Motorsports) and Danish rider Thomas Kjer Olsen (Yamaha Motor Germany, AC Motec by STC) are hard on his heels. So far, both class two riders have had a similar season to Jacobi, producing fine results. However, young Jeremy Sydow from Chemnitz (Falcon Motorsports / ADAC Sachsen) will really have to dig deep to have a chance of catching Danish motocrosser and title favourite Mikkel Haarup (MEFO Sport Racing Team, KTM) in the ADAC MX Junior Cup, as the 12-year-old leads by 35 points and will not let the top spot in class three slip through his fingers without a fight.
Fans attending the event can look forward to an extensive programme of support events, including the ADAC Young Generation Suzuki Quad track and the ADAC Insurance children's bouncy castle. In addition, numerous stalls for fans and stalls with things for sale will be erected at the Schützenbühlring. Access to the paddock is open to one and all, and fans can come along and chat with their idols, talk to team managers and watch the mechanics at work. Admission to the ADAC MX Masters in Holzgerlingen is free for children under twelve, while a weekend ticket for adults costs 19 euros. Day tickets are also available.
