The ADAC MX Masters will welcome top riders from the motocross scene to the legendary Bielstein forest track, as the third round gets under way on June 6th and 7th. This will be the first time that the popular motocross series has staged a fixture in the heart of hilly country near Bielstein, as organisers ADAC Nordrhein and MSC Drabenderhöhe-Bielstein play host to motocross stars contesting the ADAC MX Masters and the ADAC MX Youngster Cup this weekend.
A top-class field of riders will line up in the ADAC MX Masters (International German Motocross Championship). World championship rider Glenn Coldenhoff (24/Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) aims to maintain his championship lead. "I've entered every race with the aim of winning the championship, which has always worked in the past, and that's how I intend to continue until I cross the finish line, whooping for joy, in the last race," said the Dutchman, setting out his ambitions. Coldenhoff will have competition from Germany motocross talent and current ADAC MX Masters champion (2013 and 2014) Dennis Ullrich (21/Team Castrol Power1 Suzuki Moto-Base). The German is one of the contenders for a place among the top three along with Jeremy Seewer (20/Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe). The Swiss rider was 250cc European championship runner-up in 2013 and ADAC MX Youngster Cup champion in 2012. Christian Brockel (KTM GST Berlin Racing), French-born rider Grégory Aranda (25/Sturm Racing Team) and Pascal Rauchenecker (22/HSV Ried/Cofain Racing KTM) from Austria are also in the running for top positions.
ADAC MX Youngster Cup
ADAC Sports Foundation protégé Brian Hsu (17/Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) got off to a dream start to the season in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup with third place in the opener at Fürstlich Drehna and victory on the day in Saxony. By producing a similar performance in Bielstein, the current runner-up could secure vital points in the fight for the championship lead. The leader at the moment, Arminas Jasikonis (17/Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) from Lithuania is one of his main rivals but will be out of action this weekend with an injury. Placed third overall, Stefan Ekerold (19/Bodo Schmidt Motorsport) from Weiskirchen is also among the favourites and is keen to finish on the podium again. Fourth placed Tom Koch (22/ADAC Hessen-Thüringen MX Masters rookie team) from Wormstedt is also very capable of achieving a podium.
The Bielstein forest track is the oldest motocross track in the whole of Germany. The first race on the well established 1.83 kilometre was held in 1952 in front of around 1,500 spectators and has been followed down the years by numerous national events and world championship races. The varied circuit provides spectacular motocross action and is very accessible to spectators.
