Suzuki works rider Glenn Coldenhoff (Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) dominated the qualifying heats at the ADAC MX Masters Tensfeld (ADAC Schleswig-Holstein) fixture which is being held for the fifth time. The Dutchman can now select the best grid position in the field of international motocross riders for the race on Sunday around the demanding, deep sandy track of MCE Tensfeld. "I cut my teeth on sandy tracks and am very practised on them. My personal goal was to post fastest time on the sandy track, and I succeeded. It's a great feeling to get ever closer to the title as the leader in the championship," said the 24-year-old.
His strongest challenger is 29-year-old Belgian guest rider and fellow world championship rider Kevin Strijbos (Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MXGP) who finished runner-up. He also demonstrated his talent last time out in Jauer. "I'm pleased to be able to line up again in the ADAC MX Masters alongside the world championship. It's important for me to gain experience for the upcoming world championship races. What's more, Glenn is a strong competitor who doesn't make it easy for me, but I'll try to pick up victory on the day, as I did previously in Jauer," said Strijbos who won the ADAC MX Junior Cup at the age of 14. Another Belgian finished up front in third place, Jeremy Delince (24/KMP Honda Repsol Racing Team). Spectators in the very north of Germany are always close to the action, as the 1.7 km track near the town of Bad Segeberg is visible from practically all parts of the circuit.
ADAC MX Youngster Cup
German young talent Brian Hsu (17/Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) set the best time to go to the top of the leader board in the qualifying heats for young ADAC MX Youngster Cup riders. The ADAC Sports Foundation protégé and currently overall leader in the class for 14 to 21 year olds consigned the two Dutch riders Bas Vaessen (17/also Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) and Luca Nijenhuis (20/Kawasaki/KEMCO Management-CrossXL.nl) to second and third place respectively. "I'm very pleased with my performance in Tensfeld. My goal remains the same, to win the youngsters championship. So, first place on the grid tomorrow is just the ticket. I'll do everything I can to score points while having 'fun' on this sandy track," said the two-time junior world champion and two-time European champion, setting out his ambitions.
DMV MX Ladies Cup
The ADAC MX Junior Cup riders are taking a break this weekend. Local female motocrossers and world championship stars will line up in their place to contest the MX Ladies Cup. Larissa Papenmeier from Bünde near Osnabrück (Twenty Suspension Suzuki) did justice to her role as favourite by finishing fastest in practice for the ladies class. "I still remember the ADAC MX Masters well from when I used to compete with the youngsters. The competition was different back then, but I still enjoy contesting the series now and again. I'll try to leave the ladies behind me. I feel good, and will finish on the top rung of the podium if I'm still on form on race Sunday," said the 25-year-old after crossing the finish line. Championship leader Maria Franke (23/Team Yamaha STC) from Zeitz in eastern Germany finished second, while Suzuki rider Kim Irmgartz (25/Diga Procross) from Schleswig-Holstein booked third place.
