The dates have been thrashed out. The ADAC MX Masters will again be a showcase for the skills of the best motocross riders over eight race weekends next year. As is the tradition, the first two championship rounds of Europe's most popular motocross series will be staged by MSC Fürstlich Drehna at their track to the south of Berlin. Riders will be lapping the 1.65-km Rund um den Mühlenberg sandy circuit on the weekend of April 9th/10th. The two races there will serve those ADAC MX Masters riders who are also contesting the world championship as preparation for the motocross grand prix in Valkenswaard/Netherlands on the following weekend.
Two international fixtures follow the opener in Drehna. The first outing on foreign soil will take place at MAC Lichtenvoorde in the Netherlands, April 23rd/24th. Sand specialists in particular will look forward to the trip to the province of Gelderland in the border area close to Emmerich am Rhein. The weekend of May 21st/ 22nd should also prove exciting, which is when the ADAC MX Masters returns to the track run by MCC Möggers near Bregenz in Austria after a five year-break. A spectacular escarpment and several tight corners plus 14 jumps turn the Leiblachtal circuit into a real white-knuckle affair.
Riders return to Baden-Württemberg in Germany's south west, June 11th/12th, when MSC Eiserne Hand stages the races in Aichwald. Three weeks later, the competition moves to MSC Bielstein, July 2nd/3rd. 26 world championships have already been held at the well-established circuit in North Rhine-Westphalia. The trip that follows to the northern circuit of MCE Tensfeld in Schleswig-Holstein marks a climax to the season. The ADAC MX Masters turns the area around the deep sandy track into a veritable motocross mecca for two days, commencing 16th July.
The penultimate stop takes competitors back to Baden-Württemberg on August 20th/21st when riders will be going all out for a good result in order to position themselves well for the finale at the event in Gaildorf. Many riders and fans will certainly remember last season. After all, the motocross champions of 2015 were crowned there on the 1.7-km clay track at the last race weekend of the year.
The final round will be played out, September 17th/18th, on the track run by KfV Kalteneck when the ADAC MX circus returns to Holzgerlingen (Baden-Württemberg). The venue had to be dropped from last year's schedule due to modernisation work.
The ADAC MX Masters will include the ADAC MX Youngster Cup at all eight events while ADAC MX Junior Cup riders will line up for six events, missing Bielstein and Tensfeld.
