Europe´s fastest motocross artistes will go head-to-head again in the ADAC MX Masters on the weekend of May 2nd/3rd. Spectators can look forward to spectacular motocross racing on the challenging clay track near the East German town of Jauer, as the second race weekend in a series of eight gets under way. The two-day event will delight fans who particularly like to see riders take the jumps. The 1.700 km Am Hahneberg track run by MC Jauer will prove challenging to the motocross riders with 24 tables in all, one of which is almost 30 metres long, and numerous overtaking opportunities.
Dennis Ullrich (Team Castrol Power 1 Suzuki Moto-Base) is regarded as one of the top favourites at the circuit to the north-east of Dresden. The two-time Masters ADAC MX champion (2013 and 2014) won both races last year and aims to cross the finish line first again this year. "It feels great to win twice in a weekend! The jumps make the track extremely challenging, there´s loads of them! You have to really focus on riding technique and produce your very best," said the 21-year-old. Running up against him will be Dominique Thury (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil), who is on home turf at the ADAC MX Masters. "I know the track in Jauer very well, as I have often train there. I´ll use that to my advantage," said the 22-year-old from nearby Bad Schlema.
Dutchman Glenn Coldenhoff (24/Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe), Pascal Rauchenecker from Austria (22/HSV Ried/Cofain Racing KTM) and Swiss-born rider Jeremy Seewer (20/Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) will also be fighting for a place on the podium. Seewer finished the 2014 ADAC MX Masters season in third place overall, while Rauchenecker in fourth position just missed the podium. Christian Brockel (KTM GST Racing Berlin) from Petersberg (Nordrhein-Westfalen) will also be aiming for a top ranking in the battle for a place at the front of the field.
ADAC MX Youngster Cup
ADAC MX Youngster Cup riders will also line up in Jauer. They are in the mid-range class on their 125cc-250cc machines. Arminas Jasikonis (17/Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) from Lithuania made a dream start to the season with a win on the day in Fürstlich Drehna. Stefan Ekerold (KTM/Bodo Schmidt Motorsport) from Weiskirchen and German-born Brian Hsu (16/Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe), who is sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation intend to prevent a repeat of the result from the opener. 19-year-old Ekerold won one race in Fürstlich Drehna but was consigned to second place overall. Hsu wants to place at least third overall and secure another podium.
ADAC MX Junior Cup
The youngest riders contest the ADAC MX Junior Cup on 85cc machines. Mikkel Haarup (KTM Kosak Racing Team) from Denmark is a high-flyer and currently heads the overall standings. The ADAC MX Junior Cup champion from last year was the best in his class, securing victory at the season opener in Fürstlich Drehna. Dutch teenager Raivo Dankers (13/KTM/HSF Logistics Motorsport) is currently placed second overall and intends to take the top spot from the 13-year-old Danish rider. However, his task will not be easy, because Chemnitz-based rider Jeremy Sydow (14/KTM/Falcon Motorsports), who is in third place overall, will want to use his home advantage to the full.
