After eight race events the winners were finally declared. Dutch Suzuki factory rider Glenn Coldenhoff (24/Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) is the new champion, German rider Dennis Ullrich (21/Team Castrol Power1 Suzuki Moto-Base) finished championship runner-up, while Swiss rider Jeremy Seewer (21/Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) claimed the trophy for third place. ADAC Sports Foundation protégé Brian Hsu (17/Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) won the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. Chemnitz-based rider Jeremy Sydow (15/Falcon Motorsports/KTM), who is also sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation, is the new champion at the head of the youngest field of riders in the ADAC MX Junior Cup.
While the dirt-bike riders in the individual classes were delighted with their success at the season finale, there was also good reason to celebrate elsewhere in the paddock. Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe were particularly pleased when the special classification results were announced, as the joint success of its star riders Coldenhoff, Seewer, Hsu and Bas Vaessen (17) had enabled the team to fight their way to the top of the team standings. The team led by Thomas Hannecke received a bonus of 1,000 euros, having racked up 1,112 points in all. Suzuki also lead the manufacturer´s standings with 375 points to KTM´s 280 and Kawasaki´s 230.
Hannes Volber from Gardelegen demonstrated his skill in the class for privateers. The 24-year-old went to the top of the rankings for independent riders by amassing 98 points. His performance in a highly competitive field was rewarded with a cash prize of 1,000 euros. He took the win from Pleidelsheim-based rider Marcel Reuther and Tim Münchshofen from Düsseldorf. The privateer´s class is for riders, who use their own financial resources to realise their dream of contesting the ADAC MX Masters while holding down a job and raising a family.
Another two riders were honoured this year with the Michael Spacek special price for their achievements away from the track. The aim of Goldfren boss Stanislav Spacek in making this award is to recognise the accomplishments of people from the motocross scene, who have impressed by displaying extraordinary commitment, by having an outstanding personality, a sense of fair play or by being involved in charity work outside of the sport. Hsu was selected this season by former motocross pro rider and CEO Spacek. He received the award for his exceptional performance and development during the past two years and his fairness towards the competition on the track. Christian Brockel (31/KTM Racing GST Berlin) from Petershagen is another winner. He has remained true to the ADAC MX Masters for many years and is active at the racetrack as a top rider despite having to juggle the needs of work and family life. He was honoured by Spacek for his ambition and sportsmanship. Spacek will supply both riders with brake components next season to acknowledge their dedication.
Every rider has the chance to compete for a special award at the start of each race. Red Bull awards the Red Bull Holeshot to riders who are first out of the first turn. Coldenhoff won the main classification with five supreme starts. In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, the champion, Hsu, was successful and ADAC MX Junior Cup champion Sydow won in the MX class for the youngest riders. The winners in each group will receive VIP tickets to a Red Bull event to include an overnight stay for themselves and one other person. The three fastest at the start will also each receive a Red Bull drinks cooler which will be stocked up with Red Bull energy drinks throughout the year.
There is another special ranking in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup for riders under 21. Competitors riding less powerful two-stroke motorcycles received their own special class. The best rider of a 125cc machine in the field of 250cc motorbikes wins the two-stroke award. Danish rider Glen Meier (16) from KTM Kosak Racing Team was successful this year, as he was last year. Overall, prize money totalling 260,000 euros was awarded in the ADAC MX Masters 2015 season.
