On the weekend of 27th/28th June, Germany´s speediest motocross practitioners will be competing against each other at Aichwald in Baden-Württemberg. The ADAC MX Masters race event will be hosted by the MSC Eiserne Hand club on their 1.75km motocross track. Located quite near Stuttgart, the ‘In den Horben´ circuit with its clay surface has a hilly layout rising up to 50 metres at one point and has a reputation among fans for staging races characterised by thrills and spills. In addition to numerous top German names in the sport, the field at Aichwald once again includes several World Championship riders.
Currently leading the championship is Glenn Coldenhoff (Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) from the Netherlands on 135 points. This weekend, the 24-year-old can expect some serious competition from the defending champion, Germany´s Dennis Ullrich (21, Team Castrol Power1 Suzuki Moto-Base). The two-time ADAC MX Masters champion (2013 and 2014) is placed second in the 2015 standings on 110 points and is a safe bet for one of the top positions. After early season success, Switzerland´s Jeremy Seewer (20, Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) is rated as a hot prospect, having claimed the overall victory on Sunday in the most recent race meeting at Bielstein. Currently placed third on 103 points, Seewer is just seven behind Ullrich. Tim Gajser (18, Honda Gariboldi) is another world championship rider who will be making a guest appearance. The Slovenian won the last world championship race at Teutschenthal in the MX2 class and is now looking forward to getting involved in the ADAC MX Masters. High-octane thrills are thus guaranteed when the starting gates fall at Aichwald.
ADAC MX Youngster Cup
Leading the ADAC MX Youngster Cup on 136 points, Brian Hsu (17, Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) will be aiming to continue his winning streak in the fourth race meeting of the season. After two Sunday victories at Jauer (Saxony) and Bielstein (North Rhine-Westphalia), the young rider of German-Taiwanese extraction is ranked favourite in his class at Aichwald. Another regular on the podium is Stefan Ekerold (19, Bodo Schmidt Motorsport) from Weiskirchen, who is currently placed second in the standings on 36 points. Nicholas Adams (18, GPR Promo MX Team) is also one of the brightest prospects among the current crop of Youngster riders (i.e. the 14 - 21 age bracket). The South African took second place on Sunday at Bielstein to show that he is a force to be reckoned with. In the championship itself, he is in fourth place on 84 points behind Arminas Jasikonis (17, Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) – the Lithuanian on 89 points had to miss out on Bielstein due to injury and will also be absent from Aichwald.
ADAC MX Junior Cup
The talent school for the youngest riders (age ten to 15 years) is still dominated by Mikkel Haarup (KTM Kosak Racing Team) from Denmark. In the ADAC MX Junior Cup, the 13-year-old reigning champion continues to set the benchmark and is determined to retain his title this season. But he will first need to ward off Jeremy Sydow (15, Falcon Motorsports) from Chemnitz who is also a good prospect for top positions. Contenders for a place among the Top Three also include the Rick Elzinga (13, Beursfoon KTM Youth Team) from the Netherlands and Petr Polak (MEFO Sport Racing Team) from the Czech Republic. Haarup leads the championship table on 97 points, followed by Sydow on 80 and Elzinga on 72. In fourth place is Polak on 70.
Extensive support programme
An attractive programme of entertainment for children and adults will be laid on in the events area adjacent to the track. Children who have already discovered their inner racer will enjoy using the ADAC Young Generation Suzuki quad track, while the ADAC Unfallschutz bouncy castle will appeal more to those youngsters who want to perfect their trampolining skills. Adults can enjoy the party held in "Germany´s most beautiful motocross marquee" right next to the race track. Live music and a great party atmosphere will be provided on Friday and Saturday evening by Hofbräu Regiment from Stuttgart.
At 6pm on Saturday, there will be a question and answer session for members of the press with the prospective FIM Motocross of Nations squad and their team boss, Hubert Nagl. The Motocross of Nations is the most prestigious motocross event in the world. The German squad includes several popular riders who will be appearing at this official presentation of Team Germany organised by the ADAC MX Masters. Team boss Hubert Nagl and the nominated riders Dennis Ullrich, Henry Jacobi, Angus Heidecke and Brian Hsu will be available for photos and interview.
Also on the programme is an autograph-signing session with the Motocross of Nations Team Germany squad and other stars of the ADAC MX Masters series.
