ADAC MX Masters in Austria: Foreign leg of 2016 ADAC MX Masters campaign in wonderful Lake Constance setting

The ADAC MX Masters opened its twelfth season three weeks ago in Fürstlich Drehna to the south of Berlin. The second round of Europe's most popular motocross race series will be staged in Austria on the weekend of 21st-22nd May, and this ADAC MX Masters guest round in Austria should prove to be really special. The Möggers meeting is not only an exciting motocross event but an extreme sport event as well against the backdrop of stunning scenery. The club, MCC Möggers eV, has set up its 1,850-metre clay-track directly on a hillside, and there are no straight sections of track or easy passages here where riders can take a breather. Spectators have an excellent view of the circuit with its 14 jumps and spectacular slope at the start, which will prove to be a major challenge for the 240 riders or so from 25 countries, as will the general technical nature of the track.

The two motocross talents, Masters rider Luke Neurauter (23, AUT/Cofain Racing Team, KTM) and the ADAC MX Junior Cup rider Rene Hofer (14, MSC Imbach by MEFO Sport/Kini KTM junior pro team), are particularly looking forward to the ADAC MX Masters in Möggers. Both Austrians are local riders at the track near Lindau and can hardly wait to rev up their bike engines on home territory. Hofer caused a stir in the first ADAC MX Masters race at Drehna by securing victory on the day and intends to impress his fans in his home race: "My record in the ADAC MX Junior Cup currently looks good with a third place overall last year and two race wins in 2016, so I'm really hoping for a great result in Möggers," said the 14-year-old, who is one of the talents supported by motocross legend Heinz Kinigadner (56). Fellow Austrian, Neurauter, on the other hand, will be aiming to score points in the Masters class. The world championship rider is really familiar with his twisty, action-packed home track and made the following forecast about the result: "I should be in with a good chance of a place in the Top Five, especially since my adrenaline levels rise as soon as I start thinking about this great track!"

Apart from Lukas Neurauter, two-time motocross world champion, Brian Hsu (18, Team Suzuki World MX2), will also be aiming to triumph in this second of seven ADAC MX Masters events. The Suzuki rider, born in Freiburg to Hungarian and Taiwanese parents, won the 2015 ADAC MX Youngster Cup and, as of this season, will be lining up one class higher with the 'Big Boys' in the series. But the young man, who has made his home in Italy, does not have much respect for his rivals, against whom he has battled regularly in the European and world championships. "I can't wait to get back racing. I've had to take a long break after injuring a carpal bone and was forced to take things easy in training, but now, I'm ready to return to the fray and am looking forward to new adventures in the Masters class," commented the ADAC Sports Foundation protégé.

MCC Möggers eV was founded in 1990, and this will be the third time that club members have organised an ADAC MX Masters event since the series started eleven years ago. Club president Gregor Wucher is very enthusiastic about the race weekend on 21st-22nd May and has told us already that the club is thoroughly prepared for the race series meeting. "As we've already had the experience of organising the ADAC MX Masters in 2006 and 2010, we know what a great draw this motocross event is for the public. Consequently, we are really keen to see that everything is planned and organised properly. It's a real feather in our cap to have attracted the ADAC MX Masters to Möggers."

The ADAC MX Masters in Austria will have a terrific programme for the whole family with plenty to do for the kids, including the ADAC Young Generation Suzuki Quad track and the ADAC Insurance bouncy castle. Moreover, the top stars from the series will make themselves available to sign autographs for fans on Sunday from 12:15 to 12:45 pm at the ADAC Truck. This time, it will be the turn of local rider Lukas 'Luke' Neurauter, ADAC MX Youngster Cup champion Brian Hsu, current ADAC MX Masters championship leader Thomas Kjer Olsen (19, DEN/Bodo Schmidt Motorsports, Husqvarna) and world championship rider Angus Heidecke (25 , KTM Sarholz Racing team) to meet fans. Also, there will be a big party with two live bands in the grounds of MCC Möggers on Saturday night. Admission is free for those under 15 years of age. A weekend ticket for teenagers aged 15 to 17 years costs 16 euros and 22 euros for adults.
