The ADAC MX Masters is about to enter the fourth round, and fans could already sense at the last meeting in Aichwald that the championship leaders in all three classes were taking extra care not to make any mistakes in the defence of their respective positions. The motocross elite next go head-to-head in Bielstein on the weekend of 2nd - 3rd July. This will be only the second time since its founding in 1952 that the club, MSC Drabenderhöhe-Bielstein eV, has organised an event for Europe´s most popular motocross racing series. In the past, however, the club has attracted many world championship riders to its track in the forest. So far, 26 world championships have been staged on the 1,830-metre Bielstein circuit. It presents some very special challenges - long ascents and descents, some of which are quite steep, as well as constantly changing lighting conditions, because the race track winds through forest and meadow. The ADAC MX Masters in Bielstein has not only attracted some 160 riders from more than 21 countries, Germany´s Next Topmodel finalist, Taynara Wolf (19), who is herself a keen motocross rider, will also ride a bike there: "I´m really looking forward to the ADAC MX Masters in Bielstein, because it will be a welcome change to my current life as a model. Sport is very important to me and has been from a very early age, and motocross is what I enjoy most after samba dancing," said the model, who is half-Brazilian and lives in Stadtlohn, explaining her interest. ADAC MX Masters championship leader Dennis Ullrich finds her take on the sport very refreshing: "I´m impressed to find that a model is interested in motocross. These are two completely different worlds, but that makes it all the more exciting. To think that she´s going to be at the Masters. It´s just great!" said Ullrich, who has so far won two championships in the race series.
The 22-year-old rides for KTM Sarholz Racing Team and will endeavour to successfully defend his lead in the standings during the weekend in Bielstein. He is currently 11 points up on his team-mate and rival from Finland Harri Kullas (24, KTM Sarholz Racing Team). However, MX favourites Thomas Kjer Olsen from Denmark (19, DEN, Bodo Schmidt Motorsports, Husqvarna) and Angus Heidecke (26, KTM Sarholz Racing Team) will also be very keen to finish on the podium. All of these MX stars have impressed by securing a place in the Top Three at least once this season.
As in the Masters class, an exciting chase for points has begun in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. Series rookie Miro Sihvonen from Finland (17, Diga Junior Racing Team, KTM) is currently in the lead, but Dutchman Bas Vaessen (18, Team Suzuki World MX2) and his immediate rival, Stefan Ekerold (20, Bodo Schmidt Motorsports), are snapping at his heels. Vaessen and Ekerold have been in the line-up of this prestigious international event for many years, unlike Sihvonen, who first made his series debut in Fürstlich Drehna in 2016. Vaessen was even crowned ADAC MX Junior Cup champion in 2012, so the 17-year-old has only one goal for the current season, to win the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. But that is exactly what two more serious rivals of his intend to prevent him from doing, Nathan Renkens from Belgium (18, Falcon Motorsports KTM) and Luca Nijenhuis (21, NED, Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil).
Once again at this fourth meeting of the ADAC MX Masters, visitors can expect to find a varied programme with something for everyone - the ADAC Young Generation Suzuki Quad track and the ADAC Insurance kids´ bouncy castle and a mega party in Bielstein´s marquee. All sorts of other exciting events will also be taking place on Sunday along with the thrilling race action. At 12.30, ADAC MX Masters championship leader Ullrich will stage a short training session with GNTM finalist Taynara Wolf, covering a few metres of track with her on the bike. Our very popular autograph-signing session will take place just before that at the ADAC Truck with the three top stars from the motocross scene and GNTM finalist Taynara. The pretty blonde will join championship leader Dennis Ullrich, world championship rider Harri Kullas and Danish MX favourite Thomas Kjer Olsen to speak with fans and sign as many posters as they possibly can (from 12:00 to 12:30).
A weekend ticket for fans aged 15 and upwards costs 20 euros and just 10 euros for twelve to 14-year-olds. Admission is free for children under twelve accompanied by an adult.
