Bielstein: It is with great regret that the organisers have to report that a tragic accident took place today during the MX Masters at Bielstein. An MX Masters class motorcycle left the track and collided with several bystanders.

First aiders raced to the scene. Despite immediate emergency procedures, one of those hit died of his injuries. Two other male spectators and the rider himself were injured and taken to hospital for further treatment.

The organisers wish to express their deepest sympathy to the families, friends and others involved in this tragic occurrence.

Following the accident, the event was brought to an immediate close.
