MSC Gaildorf best organisers in ADAC MX Masters: Gaildorf's clay track also judged to be best circuit

MSC Gaildorf eV have every reason to celebrate once again this year. On Thursday at ADAC headquarters in Munich, the 400-strong motocross club in Baden-Württemberg was named ‘best organiser’ in the ADAC MX Masters for the sixth time in a row. The award was handed out on the basis of marks given by teams, riders and the organisers of the series, who awarded points to event organisers for their performance after each meeting. Some 600 volunteers had prepared for the ADAC MX Masters weekend at MSC Gaildorf eV, taking great care to ensure that the 1,654-metre Auf der Wacht clay track was in tip top condition. And with some success, because in addition to receiving a 1,000-euro prize for being ‘best organisers’, the club, which has a long history and was founded in 1926, was also presented with a certificate for ‘best track’ for the fourth time in succession. Around 16,000 fans attended the ADAC MX Masters meeting just outside Stuttgart this year.

“This is a great Christmas present for the club, its members and many volunteer helpers, without whom we would never have pulled it off. 2017 was a great year for us. We had perfect conditions on and around the track, and everything went smoothly. Of course, we’re hoping for the same again for ourselves and all other organising clubs in 2018! The series lives and breathes as a result of our combined efforts, and despite all the competition, we as event organisers should join forces to strengthen the series, spur each other on and always be ready to implement new ideas,” said committee member Sven Wolpert after receiving the awards. And ADAC motorcycle section manager Wolfgang Wagner-Sachs was also delighted with the results of the awards to round off this 13th season. “We shouldn’t take MSC Gaildorf’s terrific performance for granted. The volunteers turn out unstintingly every year for the club, and we cannot praise them enough for the excellent work that they do,” said Wagner-Sachs.

MSC Drabenderhöhe-Bielstein eV from North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein’s MCE Tensfeld eV were also pleased with their top marks this year. Bielstein were judged to be second-best organisers, and Tensfeld finished in third place. As regards awards for ‘best track’, the Schützenbühlring at KfV Kalteneck eV in Holzgerlingen Baden-Wuerttemberg was second and Um den Mühlberg at Fürstlich Drehna in Brandenburg third.
