ADAC MX Masters: Round 2 in Germany's far north: Mölln is venue for second round of ADAC MX Masters

Following a successful start to the season at Fürstlich Drehna with plenty of extremely exciting racing and more than 10,500 spectators in attendance at the Um den Mühlberg track, the second ADAC MX Masters race meeting will take place in the far north of Germany. Some 242 riders will compete in the four classes, made up of the ADAC MX Masters, ADAC MX Youngster Cup, ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 at Mölln, about 60 kilometres east of Hamburg. The loosely-packed, sandy soil of the 1,630-metre Grambeker Heidering circuit should once again really suit the sand specialists in the pack, and so, we can expect to see a great deal of spectacular racing action and exciting battles for championship points in Schleswig-Holstein.

In the ADAC MX Masters, the scrap between championship leader Max Nagl (TM) and Henry Jacobi (STC Husqvarna Racing) in second place looks set to continue. Both proved that they are on top form at last weekend's home grand prix in Teutschenthal and will certainly give no quarter in Mölln. 21-year-old Jacobi was twice beaten by Nagl at the opener in Fürstlich Drehna but led for eight laps in the second race and would like to show Mölln's spectators that he can make it to the finish line before Nagl. We can also expect much in Mölln from the two sand specialists Jeffrey Dewulf (Motorshop Desmet-KTM) and Sven van der Mierden (Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing) and also from Jens Gettemann (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil), who is fifth in the championship and has already enjoyed some success in the German championship this season.

Local fans will be watching Mike Stender (Team Castrol Power 1 Suzuki Moto-Base) and Davide von Zitzewitz (BvZ Racing Team/KTM) in particular. They both missed the opener in Fürstlich Drehna due to injury, and so, will be just starting their respective seasons in the ADAC MX Masters in Northern Germany. World championship rider Hunter Lawrence (KMP-Honda-Racing) will also be in the ADAC MX Masters line-up at Mölln for the first time this season. The Australian was one of the top favourites to take victory overall before the start of the season but was forced to rest due to injury, and so, missed the first race. The talented 18-year-old intends to produce a top-class result on his return to the fray at Mölln.

Rene Hofer (KTM Junior Racing) will be chasing his second victory in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup in Mölln. The 16-year-old Austrian is on excellent form this year and celebrated another victory in the European EMX125 Championship last weekend at Teutschenthal. He can expect strong competition again from New Zealand's Dylan Walsh (Team Diga-Procross/Husqvarna) and Estonian Hardi Roosiorg (Sahkar Racing/KTM). German rider Jeremy Sydow (WZ-Racing/KTM), who is supported by the ADAC Sports Foundation, is another candidate for a place in the top tier.

The new ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 class is attracting big interest, so as you might expect, a great many strong riders from a number of different countries go head-to-head in this category. The double race winner from the opener, Raivo Dankers (Team RD10 by Mefo Sport/KTM) would definitely love to excel again in Mölln. The Dutchman was on brilliant form in the last lot of European championship races in Latvia and Teutschenthal and will certainly want to play his part again in deciding who takes victory at Mölln. However, Filip Olssen (Team Diga-Procross/Husqvarna) and Raf Meuwissen (Raths Motorsports/KTM) will do their utmost to stop the speedy Dutchman while endeavouring to put themselves at the top of the new junior class. From a German perspective, Lion Florian (KTM) and Maximilian Spies (ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg/Husqvarna) will be aiming to further improve on their strong performance from the season opener.

The youngest juniors will again be competing in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85. This German junior series enjoys an excellent international reputation, and as a result, attracts not only the best young talents from all over Europe but from all around the world. The overall winner from Fürstlich Drehna, Camden McLellan (Cossack Racing Team/KTM) is from South Africa, and he will do everything possible at Mölln to edge out Liam Everts (KTM) again. Liam, son of ten-time world champion Stefan Everts, is thought to be one of the best young talents around and is very keen to win the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 this season. Paul Bloy (Bauerschmidt KTM) twice finished sixth in the season opener at Fürstlich Drehna and intends to do even better at Mölln.

MSC Mölln's grounds and circuit are very spectator-friendly and offer a good view of the races from practically anywhere around the track. In addition, there are a number of grandstand seats which enhance the view of the action and will help to make the many fans expected feel more comfortable. The ADAC MX Masters programme has plenty of attractions for young and old alike. The dealer's mile, for example, is a good place to take a stroll and shop while children can amuse themselves in the ADAC Insurance bouncy castle and get their first experience of riding on the ADAC Young Generation Suzuki quad course. The autograph-signing session on Sunday at 12:15 pm at the ADAC truck is sure to be one of the highlights of the race meeting for fans. This weekend, Max Nagl, Henry Jacobi, Jeffrey Dewulf, Hunter Lawrence and local favourite Mike Stender will be available for half-an-hour to sign autographs and take photos with fans.

A weekend ticket (Saturday and Sunday) costs 22 euros for adults and 11 euros for children aged 10 and over. If you only want to spectate on Sunday, then the ticket price is 16 euros (children 8 euros).
