The ADAC MX Masters intends to introduce a new team classification for the start of the 2019 season on 14th April. For the first time, the season's best five teams will share in a prize pool, totalling 10,000 euros. Every outfit in possession of a valid team entry form is eligible to score points. The best team of 2019 will win 4,000 euros in prize money with 2,500 euros for the second-best outfit, 1,750 euros for third place, 1,000 euros for fourth and last but not least, 750 euros for fifth place.
In this team classification, the best-placed rider from each team in each class will secure points in every points-scoring race according to the scoring system used in the riders' standings. The points of riders in the ADAC MX Masters class will be multiplied by three. The results of competitors in the following classes, the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85, will be taken into account without multiplication.
"By taking this step, we would like to really highlight and reward the work the teams do," said ADAC Motorsport Director Thomas Voss. "Well-structured, dedicated teams are essential for a strong championship, and so, should be rewarded with their own classification and prize money. By including the three junior classes in the team standings, we would like to especially recognise the work of teams who send top riders to compete in the ADAC MX Masters class and at the same time, are involved with training juniors and have riders in all four classes in their line-up."
