The ADAC MX Masters will feature a new format next season. Three points-scoring races will be held over the two days of race weekends in the following classes: the ADAC MX Masters, ADAC MX Youngster Cup and ADAC MX Junior Cup 125. The Short Season that took place earlier this year utilised the new format. The ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 will still hold two races per meeting. The first rounds in all four classes will be contested on Saturdays. As in the 2020 season, start practice, practice and qualifying will be combined in one session on Saturdays. The new format in Classes 1, 2 and 3 will give riders more actual riding time at weekends and the fact that races will now be held on Saturdays as well should make the first day of events much more attractive for fans and riders/teams taking part.
The online entry form for teams and riders has just been made available at https://www.adac-mx-masters.de/online-nennung/. Reigning ADAC MX Masters Short Season Champion Jordi Tixier has already made a firm commitment to take part. The French rider will try to defend his title on the Sarholz KTM. His team-mate, the Belgian Cyril Genot, had a good showing with plenty of strong performances in the MX2 World Championship and will be a great asset to the ADAC MX Masters. Tom Koch has also already confirmed his intention to contest the championship. After switching to Kosak Racing, he will endeavour to confirm his position as the best German rider from the current season. There is also some other good news from a purely German perspective - Max Nagl is also planning to contest the full championship season in 2021. In addition, KMP Honda Racing Team have announced that Petar Petrov will be joining regular riders Gert Krestinov and Jérémy Delincé.
As a number of changes have been made to the calendars of the Motocross World and European championships, some adjustments have been made to dates for the 2021 ADAC MX Masters in order to avoid clashes. The Dreetz season opener will now be held 8th/9th May 2021. Racing at Reutlingen has been moved to the 26th/27th June and the Möggers meeting in Austria will take place 14th/15th August. These two clubs, 1. RMC Reutlingen eV and MSC Eiserne Hand Aichwald eV, set a fine example in difficult times. Sharing know-how, they joined forces, took advantage of synergies and will work hard together again as the ADAC MX Masters returns to the Reutlingen circuit. In motocross parlance, it will be: "The ADAC MX Masters at Reutlingen, powered by MSC Aichwald and 1. RMC Reutlingen".
