We're all set for the start of the 2020 ADAC MX Masters. The motocross series will hold its races at a track, with which we are already familiar from previous events and at a new circuit this autumn, plus, for the first time fans will also be able to watch racing in all four classes live online in a free-to-air livestream. Grevenbroich will hold its inaugural race meeting on the weekend of September 19th/20th. A fortnight later, ADAC MX Masters riders will rock up to the starting gate, 3rd/4th October, at Tensfeld. During the past few months, the ADAC MX Masters has worked with local organisers to develop hygiene measures that meet the approval of the authorities to ensure that these two racing weekends can go ahead safely.
The meeting at Grevenbroich is new to the calendar. Since many race weekends have been cancelled due to the official ban on major events in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, managers at the ADAC MX Masters have had intensive talks with various event organisers over the past few weeks. Following the discussions, it has proved possible to attract a new organising club, MSC Grevenbroich eV, to assist with the shortened 2020 season. Racing at the circuit to the north-east of Cologne will be held in the absence of spectators and shown online as livestream.
The races at Tensfeld form an integral part of the calendar. The ADAC MX Masters will head to the circuit in Northern Germany as usual but on a different date - now in early October. At the Tensfeld meeting, no more than 1,000 spectators per day will be able to watch the motocross action live at the track while observing strict hygiene measures and social distancing rules. Racing from the track there will also be shown as livestream.
However, according to current official regulations, the races planned for Fürstlich-Drehna this year in early September cannot be held.
