Once again in the ADAC MX Masters, team championship prizes and other special prizes have been awarded for the 2020 season. In the team classification, the five best outfits from the ADAC MX Masters Short Season won a share of some 2,500 euros in prize money. Becker Racing on 603 points were the strongest team with their riders, including Brent van Doninck, the ADAC MX Masters runner-up from Grevenbroich, and Noah Ludwig, who finished third in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. The winning outfit fielded a broad-based squad with strong riders in all four classes and will receive 1,000 euros in prize money. WZ-Racing KTM on 549 points came second. Their team included most notably ADAC MX Master championship runner-up, Karis Sabulis, and ADAC MX Youngster Cup championship runner-up, Lion Florian, but actually, they had good riders in every class. KTM Sarholz with ADAC MX Masters Short Season Champion Jordi Tixier on 512 points complete the party on the podium in the team competition. KMP-Honda-Racing Team on 341 points and SHR Motorsports (292) slotted into place behind them.
Nathan Renkens' start also contributed to Becker Racing's success following his move to the outfit for the Tensfeld race meeting. The Belgian rider had given due notification of his intention to swap teams. The change was made before the deadline and followed procedure to the letter. However, a mistake was made with Saturday's results, and Renkens was still listed as riding for his previous outfit to the annoyance of all concerned. As the change of teams had taken place strictly in accordance with regulations, the error with the name was put right in the final results. Every outfit currently registered is eligible to take part in the team competition, and points are awarded for the best-placed rider from each team in all four classes. Points in the three Junior classes count once but are multiplied by a factor of three in the ADAC MX Masters class. Apart from that, points in the team classification are scored in the same way as in the championship classification.
Red Bull Holeshot
A good start is often half the battle for riders intent on having a successful race. The most consistent, fastest riders out of the starting gate each season win a Red Bull Holeshot award. The riders with the most holeshots during the season receive a prize of a Red Bull cooler, refilled with Red Bull drinks for free during the following year. KMP Honda Racing’s Jerémy Delincé was the sole winner in the ADAC MX Masters class. Two riders achieved success in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, so prizes go to both Maximilian Frank (ADAC Team Weser-Ems) and Lion Florian (WZ-Racing KTM), who scored two holeshots each. In the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125, newly crowned champion Martin Venhoda (NR83 Team) secured the Red Bull Holeshot award with three successful sprints to the first turn after the start. In the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85, four different riders took Red Bull Holeshots in the four points-paying races, so the competition was put on hold for this season, but of course, all four riders will still receive a prize from Red Bull.
Other special prizes in the form of a neck brace and a chest protector from Ortema were awarded to the winners of the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 (Bradley Mesters) and ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 (Martin Venhoda).
During the 2020 season, the ADAC MX Masters received support from 24MX, Motul, Red Bull, Öhlins, Allianz, Racing Policy, KTM, Husqvarna, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Ortema, Magura, LS2, Bridgestone, Motocross Enduro, Cross Magazin, Dirtbiker , Goldfren, Leatt Corporation, EVS, PBIT (Projektbetreuungsgesellschaft für Informationstechnik mbH), and from Mefo Sport with its partners Acerbis and Mefo Mousse.
