Interview with Bradley Mesters: The 2020 ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 champion surprised himself by winning the title

However, battling for titles is something, with which the Dutch teenager on the 'green KTM' is very familiar - even though his bike is actually a Husqvarna in Kawasaki livery. He has previously contested Dutch and European championships on 65 cc machines. In 2018, he won the Dutch 85 cc 'small wheel' championship and moved up into the 'big wheel' category in 2019. He joined the squad at F&H Kawasaki Racing in 2020 and gave us this interview immediately after his triumph in the final round of the ADAC MX Masters at Tensfeld.

Bradley, congratulations on winning the title. How do you feel now?

Bradley Mesters: "I feel really great. I won the Dutch championship last week and have now just clinched the ADAC title. It's been a terrific year. Everything may be far from normal, but nevertheless, I'm well pleased."

Was it your goal to win the title or did it take you little bit by surprise?

"I was a little surprised, for sure. You see, I just thought that the races would make good training but now I'm champion. Still, I'm very pleased."

How did you get started in motocross?

"I started out when I was seven. I improved with every year that passed and now ride for F&H Kawasaki Racing. The training I'm getting there from Marc De Reuver is first-class and is helping me make progress as my results show."

What did you learn this year from the team at F&H and from their top riders?

"I really enjoy training with them and am able to learn a lot. I can see how professional riders approach things and what they do that makes them so good. Marc is often there during training and has already taught me a lot as is fairly self-evident."

Are you still at school?

"Yes, of course. I go to a normal school every day. I get to leave a little earlier to train from time to time but still have to attend regularly."

What are your dreams and ambitions as far as motocross is concerned?

"I want to become 85 cc European and World Champion next year but will switch to a 125 cc motorcycle in the Dutch championship."

We wish you every success with that!

Thank you.
