With just two days to go before the start of the Motocross World Championship at Matterley Basin in England, KTM Sarholz Racing have announced that former world champion, 27-year-old Jordi Tixier, will be joining them to contest the European rounds of the MX World Championship and the ADAC MX Masters.
Andre Sarholz told us as he looks forward to the 2020 season: "After it became official that Jordi would be leaving his old team, we were in regular contact with him in the hope of putting something together. We were finally able to work out a good package with support from our sponsors and from KTM in particular. We believe in his strengths and are already looking forward to a successful season in the World Championship and ADAC MX Masters."
And the German team's latest signing, Jordi Tixier, added: "Three weeks ago, I suddenly found myself without a ride (no comment on that subject). But I'm not the type of person to give up. Fortunately, I've found a great family and a good team that believes and trusts in me. We've pulled out all the stops to get me a place at the starting gate, and I would like to especially thank Team Sarholz for going the extra mile to bring me on board for 2020. The work done these last three weeks is humongous. None of this would have been possible without support from KTM Austria and from all the private sponsors."
