The ADAC MX Masters 'Short Season' is set to end this weekend at Tensfeld (3rd/4th October). Since measures to protect the public from the pandemic have put a block on spectators coming to the track, races in all four classes will be broadcast as free-to-air live stream by sportdeutschland.tv on Saturday at 12.40 CEST and Sunday 10.20 CEST. The first points-scoring rounds in all four classes will be held on Saturday. Two more races in the ADAC MX Masters, ADAC MX Youngster Cup and ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 classes will follow on Sunday and just one more in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85.
Frenchman Jordi Tixier heads the standings in the run-up to this final round of the ADAC MX Masters 'Short Season'. The KTM Sarholz rider has a healthy lead on those directly behind him but could still find himself under threat at Tensfeld in his bid to win the title. However, nobody can afford to relax, as there are 75 points in all still to be won. Were Tixier to retire just once, then that would allow his main rivals, Karlis Sabulis, Tom Koch, Jérémy Delincé and Jefrey Dewulf, to get dangerously close at the top of the table. Apart from Koch, two more German-speaking riders, Lukas Platt and Pascal Rauchenecker, are in the championship Top Ten, but Max Nagl will not be starting as planned at Tensfeld, as he is having an operation on an injury this week.
Competition in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup is hotting up too and should get very exciting, since two German riders, ADAC Sports Foundation protégés Maximilan Spies and Lion Florian, are ahead in the standings but with Rick Elzinga and Jörgen-Matthias Talviku directly behind them after winning at Grevenbroich along with Spies. Four more German-speaking riders, Mike Gwerder, Noah Ludwig, Marnique Appelt and Peter König are in the Top Ten in the standings. Maximilian Spies has already shown he's feeling quite confident by announcing his strategy in the finale: "Defend Red Plate. Win title!"
Two more German riders are positioned in the Top Three in the standings - Cato Nickel in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and Maximilian Werner in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85. However, Nickel will have to hope that bad luck strikes Max Palsson and Martin Venhoda, who are both ahead of him, if he is to keep alive his chance of winning the title - and ADAC Sports Foundation protégé Constantin Piller is right behind him, snapping at his heels. Piller too proved his strength in Grevenbroich's sand with a podium in the third round. Maximilian Werner is another rider who must hope that those in front of him, Julius Mikula and Bradely Mesters, run into problems in the two points-scoring races in the 85 cc class if he is to remain in title contention.
Free-to-air live streams from all the races will once again be made available in order to give fans everywhere the chance to enjoy the unique ADAC MX Masters race atmosphere. ADAC MX Masters series presenter Thomas Deitenbach will give his expert commentary while in between, Jan Uttich will provide up-to-date information and keep us entertained with lots of interviews and interesting insights from the paddock. Racing will be broadcast live by sportdeutschland.tv and streamed online at adac.de/mx-masters, starting at 12.40 CEST on Saturday and at the earlier time of 10.20 CEST on Sunday. Broadcasting should finish at around 17.30 CEST on both days.
