ADAC MX Masters enters the finishing straight in Fürstlich Drehna

Tixier, Genot and Koch battling for the ADAC MX Masters lead. Spies leads the ADAC MX Youngster Cup ahead of his home event. Spectators welcome at the track.

The ADAC MX Masters lines up for the penultimate round of the season this weekend (4th/5th September). The title race between Jordi Tixier (FRA), Cyril Genot (BEL) and Tom Koch (GER) is really heating up. Maximilian Spies (GER) arrives at his home event as the championship leader in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. There are also several candidates for the title in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 classes. Fans can follow the races live at the racetrack and free of charge in a livestream at adac.de/mx-masters, from 12:45 on Saturday and 10:10 on Sunday.

After injury forced Max Nagl (GER) out of the race in Dreetz, the top of the table in the ADAC MX Masters has become a close affair. Reigning champion Jordi Tixier from the KTM Sarholz Racing Team took the lead, but it was his team-mate Cyril Genot who underlined his rapidly improving form in the top class with his first overall victory. However, Tom Koch on the Kosak Racing KTM also showed that he can match the pace of his rivals. That trio is separated by just eight points. Despite suffering three broken ribs, Max Nagl will still attempt to make it to the start gate in Fürstlich Drehna, as he strives to keep his title hopes alive. KMP Honda Racing riders Jérémy Delincé (BEL) and Gert Krestinov (EST) will also be looking for good results on the sandy track, as will Germans Stefan Ekerold, Mike Stender, Tim Koch and Lukas Platt, who are all in the top ten coming into the event. The runner-up in the 2020 ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Lion Florian, will make his debut in the ADAC MX Masters class, having focussed on the MX2 World Championship up to this point of the season.

In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, MSC Fürstlich Drehna e.V boasts the championship leader among its ranks, in the form of Maximilian Spies. The ADAC Stiftung Sport rider is understandably hoping to extend his lead on the two-stroke bike run by the Maddii Racing Fantic Factory team. His fiercest rivals are KTM riders Marcel Stauffer (AUT), who also lined up on a two-stroke bike for the Sturm STC Racing Team, and fast-starter Noah Ludwig (GER) from the Becker Racing Team. Woltersdorf’s Marnique Appelt (GER), Camden McLellan (RSA), Mairis Pumpurs (LAT) and Maxime Grau (FRA) are also good tips for top results. The ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 classes will again produce some thrilling racing. In the 125 cc class, Scott Smulders (NEL) is undefeated so far, with the exception of one pointless result, when he was penalised for arriving late at the pre-start. Smulders has his sights set on extending his lead at the top of the table. His closest rivals are ADAC Stiftung Sport rider Constantin Piller (GER), Roberts Lusis (LAT) and the reigning ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 champion Bradley Mesters (NEL). In the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 class, the two leaders Viteszlav Marek (CZE) and Noel Zanocz (HUN) are separated by just one point. However, third-placed Semen Rybakov (RUS) is also lurking within striking distance.

The first races in all classes start on Saturday afternoon, with the remaining races taking place on Sunday. Three races will be held in each of the classes, with the exception of the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85, which will stage two races. Motocross fans have been given the green light to watch the thrilling racing live at the track: spectators are welcome. Tickets can be purchased online at etix.com/ticket/v/14652 or on the gate. The 3G rules apply for access to the circuit. Spectators who have not been vaccinated or cannot prove that they have recovered from coronavirus can take a free test at the Tugamer Weg coach park, 15926 Luckau OT Fürstlich Drehna. Masks must be worn in designated areas and when it is not possible to maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 metres.

All of the races in Fürstlich Drehna will be broadcast in a free livestream.
