ADAC MX Masters kicks off the season in Bielstein

Top international riders in action. Free livestream on both days. Advance tickets for the season-opener available online.

It has been worth the long wait: the new ADAC MX Masters season gets underway this weekend (3rd/4th July). The international and national riders contesting the full season will be joined at the season-opener by a number of strong guest starters. Fans can watch the races live at the track or in a free livestream at adac.de/mx-masters, from 12:30 on Saturday and 10:00 on Sunday.

In the top ADAC MX Masters class, Frenchman Jordi Tixier will be out to defend his title on the Sarholz KTM. However, the reigning champion will face stiff opposition. In Cyril Genot, one of Tixier’s biggest rivals could come from within his own team. Like the Belgian, big things are also expected of German riders Dennis Ullrich, Tom Koch and Max Nagl. Record ADAC MX Masters winner Ullrich is back after missing a year through injury. Koch is looking to improve on last year’s third place, while the experienced Nagl is out to prove that he is still good enough to win titles on his return to the series. A strong international contingent will also role up to the starting gates, including 2020 runner-up Karlis Sabulis, Nathan Renkens, Jérémy Delincé, Gert Krestinov, Petar Petrov and Richard Sikyna. Tanel Leok, who finished third in the championship in 2019, will be making a guest appearance in Bielstein. In local favourite Lukas Platt, Stefan Ekerold, Mike Stender, Tim Koch, Gianluca Ecca, Paul Haberland and Nico Koch, who has made the step up from the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, a host of other Germans are also hoping for good results in Bielstein.

As well as the ADAC MX Masters class, the ADAC MX Youngster Cup and the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 also line up in Bielstein, with over 200 riders from 21 different countries. All three classes will contest three races at the weekend, with the first of these taking place on Saturday afternoon. For the first time since the end of the 2019 season, spectators are permitted at the racetrack for an ADAC MX Masters event. The limited tickets can only be purchased online at https://mxmasters.ticket.io/. A minimum distance of 1.5 metres must be maintained across the entire event site, and face masks (OP masks or FFP2 masks) must be worn in specific areas and when it is not possible to maintain the minimum distance. These measures are subject to change at any time, in line with official regulations.

To allow all ADAC MX Masters fans to enjoy the race atmosphere, there will be a free livestream of all the races. Providing expert commentary on the races will be ADAC MX Masters presenter Thomas Deitenbach, while Lukas Greussing will provide entertainment and the latest news between races with interviews and fascinating insights from the paddock. The livestream will be shown on YouTube at adac.de/mx-masters. The broadcast begins at 12:30 on Saturday and 10:00 on Sunday, and runs until about 17:30 on both days.

The idyllic Waldkurs, which belongs to MSC Drabenderhöhe-Bielstein e.V., combines a rather traditional layout on firm ground with modern jumps and track features. The gentle slopes offer spectators a good view of the track from many positions. These changes in elevation pose a challenge for the riders, whose eyes must also react quickly when they move from the open areas into the darker woodland sections. The four back-to-back jumps shortly before the end of the lap are particularly spectacular.

The ADAC MX Masters is supported by its strong partners and sponsors 24MX, Motul, Red Bull, Öhlins, Allianz, Racing Policy, KTM, Husqvarna, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Ortema, LS2, Bridgestone, Motocross Enduro, Cross Magazin, Dirtbiker, Goldfren, Leatt Corporation, PBIT Projektbetreuungsgesellschaft für Informationstechnik mbH, Mefo Sport with its partners Acerbis and Mefo Mousse, and Weber-Werke.
