ADAC MX Masters puts riders to the test in the deep sand of Tensfeld

Max Nagl out to extend his lead. Opening round of the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125. Free livestream on both days.

Two weeks after the season-opener, the ADAC MX Masters heads to Tensfeld this weekend (17th/18th July) for round two of the international German Motocross Championship. For the first time this season, the riders will have to show what they are capable of in deep sand. The ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 lines up for its first race of the season. Fans can watch the races on Saturday at 12:30 and Sunday at 10:10 in a free livestream at adac.de/mx-masters.

Max Nagl, on the Krettek Haas Racing team’s Husqvarna, stamped his authority on the season-opener with pole position and two lights-to-flag victories. The experienced German is now looking to produce another strong display in the first race of the year on sand. However, his closest rivals – reigning ADAC MX Masters champion Jordi Tixier, German Tom Koch and Latvia’s Karlis Sabulis – are also very strong on loose ground and are currently in the top five in the championship. Meanwhile, Cyril Genot, Jérémy Delincé, Germans Stefan Ekerold, Lukas Platt, and Nico Koch, and local favourite Mike Stender will be out to make an impression at the track in Schleswig-Holstein, which will really put the riders’ skill and fitness to the test.

As well as the ADAC MX Masters class, Tensfeld also hosts the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85, with riders from a total of 20 countries. The ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 rolls out of the start gate for the first time this season. The ADAC MX Youngster Cup takes a break this weekend, due to a scheduling clash with the European championship. All three classes will each stage three races, with the first race taking place on Saturday afternoon.

A deep sandy track, with a number of treacherous fixed ridges on the loose ground, awaits the riders in Schleswig-Holstein. Over the course of the race, big bumps and deep ruts develop in the take-off areas. The track is also incredibly challenging for the riders’ fitness. A few long straights make for very high speeds in places.

In line with local authority regulations, spectators are not permitted at the racetrack in Tensfeld. All the races in Tensfeld will be broadcast in a free livestream. Thomas Deitenbach and Jan Uttich will commentate on the races, while a host of interviews and fascinating insights from the paddock will entertain and inform between the races. The livestream will be broadcast at adac.de/mx-masters. Saturday’s programme begins at 12:30 and ends at about 16:00. On Sunday, the broadcast starts at 10:10 and runs until about 17:00.

The digital programme, schedules and starter lists are available to download at adac.de/mx-masters.
