The opening round of the 2021 ADAC MX Masters season in Bielstein has been given the green light by authorities. Not only will the engines be fired up in the ADAC MX Masters, ADAC MX Youngster Cup and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 at the season-opener, which takes place on 3rd and 4th July at the “Bielstein Waldkurs” circuit, but crowds will also be allowed back to the idyllic track. Tickets can be purchased exclusively online and in advance of the event. Fans unable to make it to Bielstein for the season-opener can follow the races free of charge on livestream.

Time to breathe a sigh of relief for organisers ADAC Nordrhein e.V. and the local organising club MSC Drabenderhöhe Bielstein e.V.: the authorities have given the green light to stage the opening round of the 2021 ADAC MX Masters season on 3rd and 4th July. As well as the athletes and teams, fans will also be able to experience the nine races on Saturday and Sunday live at the circuit. The limited number of tickets can be purchased now, exclusively online, from mxmasters.ticket.io. The minimum distance of 1.5 metres must be maintained throughout the entire event site, while face masks (OP mask or FFP2 mask) must be worn in designated areas and if it is not possible to maintain the minimum distance. According to the current regulations, a negative coronavirus test is not required to access the event site. However, it is recommended. These measures may be amended at any time, in keeping with official regulations.

“We are pleased that, despite the difficult times, we are again able to stage an ADAC MX Masters race in Bielstein, at which the priority for us, MSC Drabenderhöhe Bielstein e.V. and the local authorities is maximum safety for the fans, teams, athletes and volunteers,” said Walter Hornung, sporting director of ADAC Nordrhein e.V..

“This news has been received really positively, both internally and externally,” said a delighted Jörg Steinhausen, head of organisation at MSC Drabenderhöhe Bielstein e.V. “We have seen that all those involved in the organisation, members and volunteers are extremely motivated to organise this race again after a one-year break. We have even received offers of support from distant states. Weeks in advance, it was noticeable how much a club needs an event like this. With the final go-ahead, and the news that spectators will be allowed, the preparations have been ramped up even further!”

Regardless of the positive news regarding crowds at the racetrack, the free livestream offering on both days of the event will remain in place for all ADAC MX Masters events in the 2021 season. The first races are held on the Saturday afternoon, with the remaining races on the Sunday. The livestreams are available on the ADAC MX Masters homepage and via YouTube.

The 2020 ADAC MX Masters champion, Jordi Tixier, is out to defend his title on the Sarholz KTM. However, in Cyril Genot, he will have some stiff competition from within his own team. As well as the young, flying Belgian, record ADAC MX Masters champion Dennis Ullrich is also particularly hungry to reclaim the title, having been forced to miss the 2020 season with an injury. Tom Koch and Max Nagl are another two impressive Germans who will have their sights set on winning the championship, as will 2020 runner-up Karlis Sabulis. Privateer Lukas Platt is particularly looking forward to the season-opener in Bielstein: he lives just 15 minutes from the racetrack and was one of the biggest surprises of last year, claiming a number of top-five results.
