Title weekend: Finale of the ADAC MX Masters in Fürstlich Drehna

Title deciders in the ADAC MX Masters and the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 and 125. Word championship star Henry Jacobi to make guest appearance on a KTM. End-of-season award ceremony on Sunday evening.

Who will be the 2022 ADAC MX Masters champion? For the first time, the destination of the title will be decided in Fürstlich Drehna in Brandenburg on the long weekend (1st/2nd October), which marks the anniversary of German unification. In three of the four classes, the title race will reach its thrilling conclusion on the sandy track between Berlin and Dresden. Max Nagl (D/Krettek-Haas-Racing-Team) goes into the event as the leader in the ADAC MX Masters. In the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125, Ivano Van Erp (NL/SHR Motorsports) is the man to catch at the top of the table. Jayson Van Drunen (NL/SHR Motorsports Yamaha Motors Europe) moved into the championship lead in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 at the latest event. Fans can watch the races at the track or streamed live and free at adac.de/mx-masters, from 12:45 on Saturday and 10:00 on Sunday.

Max Nagl travels to Fürstlich Drehna with a comfortable lead of 59 points over defending champion Jordi Tixier (F/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and Tom Koch (D/Kosak Racing Team). As such, he could secure his third title in the ADAC MX Masters, his first since 2008, in Saturday’s opening race in the ADAC MX Masters class, provided he concedes no more than nine points to Tixier. Tixier, for his part, leads third-placed Koch by 32 points. Fans can look forward to the race debut of world championship star Henry Jacobi (D) on a KTM, which he will also ride next season. Behind the top three in the table, Adam Sterry (GB/KTM Sarholz Racing Team), the newly-crowned champion in the German Motocross Masters Open, Stefan Ekerold (D/Team Bauerschmidt MB33), and Tim Koch (D/Team AB-Racing by Zweiradsport Schmitz) are battling it out for fourth place in the championship.

In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Guillem Farres (E/Raths Motorsports) wrapped up the title with races to spare in Holzgerlingen. Maximilian Spies (D/Schmicker Racing) in second place holds a 27-point lead over third-placed Camden Mc Lellan (ZA/TBS Conversions KTM Racing Team) and has his sights set on victory at his home track. Noah Ludwig (D/Becker Racing) and Cato Nickel (D/WZ-Racing) lie fourth and fifth in the championship.

In the fiercely-contested ADAC MX Junior Cup 125, several positions are still up for grabs in the top ten. Janis Martins Reisulis (LV/Hamstra MX Team) has closed to within nine points of championship leader Ivano Van Erp, who came away empty handed from two races in Holzgerlingen. Julius Mikula (CZ) and Vitaszlav Marek (CZ) are tied on points in the battle for third place. It is a close affair behind them too, with just twelve points separating Bence Pergel (HU/HTS Team) in fifth and Karlis Alberts Reisulis (LV/Yamaha MJC) in eighth place. Sandwiched between those two are Maximilian Ernecker (A/HSV Ried) and Maximilian Werner (D/Diga Procross KTM Racing Team) in sixth and seventh.

The ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 is also headed for a tense finale. The last race in Holzgerlingen saw Jayson Van Drunen climb from fourth to first place in the table. Just behind him, however, Áron Katona (HU/HTS Team), Maxime Lucas (B/Becker Racing) and Jonathan Frank (D/Schmicker Racing) are poised to pounce. These four riders are separated by a mere 18 points. Eleven-year-old Katona trails Van Drunen by just four points in second place. Junior world champion Gyan Doensen (NL/ Husqvarna SKS-Racing NL Team) has his sights set on another overall victory in Fürstlich Drehna, in order to improve on his fifth place in the table, having missed the first few races of the season.
