The ADAC MX Masters returns to Holzgerlingen after a two-year break. Junior World Champions, Ivano Van Erp and Gyan Doensen, will line up at a Schützenbühlring track that features some new sections.
The ADAC MX Masters is returning to the Schützenbühlring in Holzgerlingen after a two-year absence. Spectators at the penultimate event of the year can look forward to exciting races in the four classes: ADAC MX Masters, ADAC MX Youngster Cup, ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85. Max Nagl (D/Krettek-Haas-Racing-Team) arrives in Holzgerlingen as championship leader in the ADAC MX Masters, but was beaten by his two closest rivals, Jordi Tixier (F/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and Tom Koch (D/Kosak Racing Team), last weekend in Jauer. In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Guillem Farres (E/Raths Motorsports) could wrap up the title with races to spare. In the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125, championship leader Ivano Van Erp (NL/SHR Motorsports) lines up as the newly-crowned Junior World Champion. Another new world champion, Gyan Doensen (NL/Husqvarna SKS-Racing NL Team), also starts in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85. Jonathan Frank (D/Schmicker Racing) travels to Holzgerlingen as the new leader. Fans can follow the races live at the track and via a free livestream at adac.de/mx-masters. Coverage starts at 12:30 on Saturday and 10:00 on Sunday.
Max Nagl comes into the event in Holzgerlingen with a comfortable 47-point lead over Jordi Tixier. However, Tixier’s first overall victory of the season, last time out in Jauer, underlined his return to strength after a minor dip in form. Third-placed Tom Koch took his first race win of the year on his way to second place overall in Jauer, where he finished ahead of Nagl and showed that he is still a force to be reckoned with. Behind the leading trio are Adam Sterry (GBR/KTM Sarholz Racing Team), Stefan Ekerold (D/Team Bauerschmidt MB33) and Tim Koch (D/Team AB-Racing by Zweiradsport Schmitz). An exciting battle for fifth place is developing between the two Germans. Ekerold has been able to match the pace of the leading riders lately, and is determined to make it back onto the event podium. Marc Scheu (D/SixtySeven) and Elias Stapel (D/FinkMoto Holzgerlingen) are another two rapid locals who have already achieved good race results and are looking to feature at the head of the field again at the Schützenbühlring.
In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Guillem Farres travels to Holzgerlingen with a commanding 72-point lead at the top of the table. Maximilian Spies (D/Schmicker Racing) and Camden Mc Lellan (ZA/TBS Conversions KTM Racing Team) will have their work cut out at the Schützenbühlring if they are to take the title race down to the finale in Fürstlich Drehna. Nevertheless, this class is expected to produce some very exciting racing, with riders like Noah Ludwig (D/Becker Racing), Cato Nickel (D/WZ-Racing) and Victor Alonso (E/GripMesser.com Racing) among those who could have a say in the pursuit of victories and podiums.
Having not featured at the latest event, the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 returns to the series. Ivano Van Erp was crowned 125cc Junior World Champion during the summer break. The Dutchman leads the championship, but can expect stiff opposition from Janis Martins Reisulis (EST/Hamstra MX Team), Vitaszlav Marek (CZ), Julius Mikula (CZ) and Karlis Alberts Reisulis (EST/Yamaha MJC). German-speaking riders Maximilian Werner (D/Diga Procross KTM Racing), Maximilian Ernecker (A/HSV Ried) and Eric Rakow (D/Schmicker Racing) will also be hoping for good results.
The ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 looks set to produce the most exciting conclusion to its title race, as the top four riders are separated by just eight points. Jonathan Frank moved to the top of the table last time out in Jauer. However, Áron Katona (HU/HTS Team), Maxime Lucas (B/Becker Racing) and Jayson Van Drunen (NL/SHR Motorsports Yamaha Motor Europe) are hot on his heels. Gyan Doensen starts as the new Junior World Champion and won the last two races in the series, picking up maximum points in Jauer. He will be determined to keep this winning run going in Holzgerlingen.
The Schützenbühlring has a new layout for the ADAC MX Masters at the top part of the track. This is aimed at providing even greater variety and additional overtaking opportunities. KFV Kalteneck e.V. will host an extensive programme for spectators at the racetrack, including live music in the party tent on Friday and Saturday evening. Fans can purchase tickets on the gate or in advance online at mxh-shop.tickyt.de. Camping is also possible for spectators. Long-term partner of the series, Honda, will also be present with the Honda Test Ride Truck. Adult motorcyclists can take Honda’s latest street and off-road bikes for a test ride here. Children aged six and above can gain their first experience of Motocross in three-hour taster courses at the ADAC MX Academy “on tour”. These courses are available on both days of the event and must be booked in advance. From 11:45 to 12:15 on Sunday, Max Nagl, Jordi Tixier, Tom Koch, Adam Sterry and Marc Scheu will be signing autographs for fans at the ADAC MX Masters Truck.
All the races in Holzgerlingen will be streamed live and free of charge. A host of interviews will provide entertainment and the latest information between races. The livestream will be broadcast at adac.de/mx-masters. The programme starts at 12:30 on Saturday and the earlier time of 10:00 on Sunday.
The digital programme, together with schedules and start lists, are available to download at adac.de/mx-masters.
