Max Nagl and Tom Koch expected to battle it out in the ADAC MX Masters. Oriol Oliver could wrap up the title with races to come in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. Close title races in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85.
This weekend (9th/10th September), the ADAC MX Masters returns with its junior classes – the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 – for the penultimate event of the season at the Schützenbühlring in Holzgerlingen. In the title race in the ADAC MX Masters class, championship leader Max Nagl’s (D/KMP Honda Racing powered by Krettek) advantage over Tom Koch (D/Kosak Racing Team) has shrunk dramatically. Oriol Oliver (E/WZ-Racing) could wrap up the title in the ADAC MX Youngster Club in Holzgerlingen. In contrast, the top of the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 is a close affair, with Mads Fredsøe (DK/STC Sturm Racing) leading Maximilian Werner (D/Fantic Factory Team Maddii). The title race is also still wide open for the youngest riders in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85. Reigning junior world champion Dani Heitink (NL/DH-MX) is the man to catch at the top of the table. Fans can watch the races live at the track or via a free livestream at adac.de/mx-masters.
The race for the ADAC MX Masters title has boiled down to two Germans, Max Nagl and Tom Koch. Reigning champion Nagl came into the latest event with a big lead, but saw that shrink dramatically after a technical retirement, leaving the two rivals separated by just ten points. The top-of-the-table duel could heat up in Holzgerlingen. Maximilian Spies (D/Kosak Racing Team), who has made the step up to this class this season, is out to show that his first overall victory in Tensfeld was no flash in the pan. He has his sights set on moving above Jordi Tixier (F/KMP Honda Racing powered by Krettek) and Adam Sterry (GB/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) in the table. However, they two should feel right at home on the Schützenbühlring track. Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team), Nico Koch (D/Becker Racing), Jakub Teresak (CZ/Enduro Koch Racing), Tim Koch (D/VisuAlz Production), Stefan Ekerold (D/Team Bauerschmidt MB33), Boris Maillard (F/stielergruppe.mx Johannes-Bikes Suzuki), Lukas Platt (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and many international starters will also be hungry to show what they are capable of, as will local favourite Elias Stapel (D/GasGas Hegau Racing Team).
In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, championship leader Oriol Oliver took advantage of the absence of his three closest rivals through injury to open a comfortable lead at the last event, and could even be crowned champion in Holzgerlingen with races still to come. His WZ-Racing team-mate Cato Nickel (D) plans to start again at the Schützenbühlring, while Rasmus Pedersen (DK/Filten Racing) and Mike Gwerder (CH) miss out again, and a broken wrist has brought Peter König’s (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) season to a premature end. Drivers like Edvards Bidzans (LVA/Sixty Seven), Jens Walvoort (NL/KTM SB Racing), Marnique Appelt (D/Becker Racing) and Scott Smulders (NL/ KMP Honda Racing powered by Krettek) will use this year’s remaining races to add more podium results and improve their positions in the championship.
After sitting out the latest event, the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 returns to action in Holzgerlingen. Mads Fredsøe arrives there with a ten-point lead over German Maximilian Werner. However, Vitezslav Marek (CZ/Cermen KTM Racing Team) could also have a say in the title race. Gyan Doensen (NL/WZ-Racing) and Nicolai Skovbjerg (DK/Yamaha Scandinavia/Wozniak Racing) round out the current top five in the championship, but already trail the leading trio by a significant margin.
When the previous leader Jarne Bervoets (B/Bervoets Racing Team) moved up a class in the summer break, Dani Heitink took over at the top of the table. However, Dean Gregoire (NL/Schmicker Racing) and Áron Katona (HU/HTS KTM) could challenge the junior world champion. Their objective in Holzgerlingen will be to put themselves in the best possible position ahead of the season finale. From a German-speaking perspective, Moritz Ernecker (A/AMX Racing), Finn Lange (D/KTM GST Berlin/ADAC Hansa MX Junior Team) and Mika Plaas (D/HPM Racing) will be hoping for a good result.
KFV Kalteneck e.V. will put on an extensive support programme during the daytime, as well as live music in the party tent on Friday and Saturday evening. “Friendly Elf” will entertain crowds with some awesome ‘party rock’ on Friday evening.
