Greutmann and Oppliger secure the championship titles

Nico Greutmann is the 2024 ADAC MX Youngster Cup champion. Ryan Oppliger is the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 champion. Jordi Tixier wins the first race of the ADAC MX Masters class.

The numerous fans of the ADAC MX Masters season finale were treated to two early title decisions in ideal racing conditions at Holzgerlingen on Saturday, much to the delight of the Swiss supporters. Ryan Oppliger (CH/Oppliger Racing Sàrl) secured the title in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85, while his compatriot Nico Greutmann (CH/Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna) was crowned champion in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. Jordi Tixier (F/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek) triumphed in the ADAC MX Masters class in the first race, while Alessandro Gaspari (I/Kosak Racing Team) secured pole position for the Sunday races in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125.

ADAC MX Masters: Jordi Tixier beats quick starter Tom Koch

Tom Koch (D/Kosak Racing Team) secured the Red Bull Holeshot and initially led the field ahead of Dennis Ullrich (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and LS2 Best Qualifier Jordi Tixier. However, several of the favourites, including Henry Jacobi (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and Cornelius Töndel (NO/Schmicker Racing), crashed in the first turn. Tixier and Marcel Stauffer (A/Osicka MX Team) took second place from Ullrich on the fifth lap. Tixier quickly closed the gap on Koch and took the lead two laps later. Max Nagl (D/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek), the 2024 ADAC MX Masters champion, started from sixth place and initially dropped back to eighth, but worked his way forward again during the race. With five laps remaining, Nagl secured fourth place with an overtaking manoeuvre on Ullrich. The Top Five were finally: Tixier ahead of Koch, Stauffer, Nagl and Ullrich.

‘The conditions today were perfect for me, as they were very similar to French tracks. I quickly found my rhythm and took advantage of a small mistake by Tom to take the lead. I'm looking forward to tomorrow,’ said Tixier after his victory.

ADAC MX Youngster Cup: Nico Greutmann is the new champion

The first race of the ADAC MX Youngster Cup provided plenty of excitement and variety. Constantin Piller (D/Yamaha Meyer Racing) initially led the field. LS2 Best Qualifier Tom Schröder (D/Gasgas) dropped back from second place after the first lap and retired after four laps. This allowed Bradley Mesters (NL/Kosak Racing Team) and Nico Greutmann to move into the top three. On lap five, the duo passed Piller, who retired with four laps remaining after a heavy crash. Bence Pergel (HU/HTS KTM) inherited third place, but was passed by Jaroslav Katrinak (SK/MRA Racing Team) one lap later. On the penultimate lap, Mesters' chain came off, allowing Greutmann to take the lead and seal his title with the race win. Greutmann won ahead of Katrinak, Ryan Alexanderson (AU/WZ-Racing KTM), Morgan Bennati (I/Fly Over Competition-Gaerne) and Mesters.

‘I got off to a good start and then worked out a strategy for the rest of the race, in which I wanted to attack on the last lap. Then, surprisingly, I was already in the lead a lap earlier. It was terrific with all the Swiss fans along the side of the track, cheering me on every lap,’ beamed Greutmann, overjoyed.

ADAC MX Junior Cup 85: Ryan Oppliger is champion

Lucas Leok (EST/Team #111) took the lead with the Red Bull Holeshot, but was already replaced by Ryan Oppliger on the first lap. The two quickly pulled away from the rest of the field until Oppliger crashed briefly. Leok seized the opportunity to take victory in the race, while Oppliger then concentrated on defending his second place – enough to secure the championship title in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85. Simon Hahn (D/Kosak Racing Team/ADAC Pfalz) managed to finish in third place behind Leok and Oppliger after a thrilling race. Raphael Hellmuth (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team/ADAC Hessen-Thüringen MX Rookies) and Jekabs Hudolejs (LVA/Gatis Hudolejs) completed the Top Five.

‘I'm very happy with my season and overjoyed to have won the title. Of course, I would have liked to have won the race, but a small crash prevented that. Nevertheless, I can now celebrate the championship,’ said Oppliger.

The re-live of the first day of racing can be found on the ADAC Motorsport YouTube channel. The live stream of all Sunday's races starts at 9:50 am. The digital programme booklet, as well as timetables and entry lists, are available for download at adac.de/mx-masters.
