Max Nagl crowns a strong season with an early title win

After a very strong first half of the season, it was only a matter of time before Max Nagl would defend his title, which he did by finishing second in the second race and celebrating as the old and new ADAC MX Masters Champion 2024. By winning the championship for the fifth time, he drew level with previous record champion Dennis Ullrich (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and made German motocross history as the first rider to win three titles in a row. In the first race on Saturday, Nagl laid the foundations for an early title win with second place behind Jacobi. After winning the championship with second place in the second race, Nagl did not reduce his pace in the third race and took third place behind race winner Töndel and Tom Koch (D/Kosak Racing Team) to finish on the second step of the overall podium in Jauer.

‘Winning a title is always something very special. I already laid the foundation for this in the winter with my physical training. I spent the whole season trying to get the best out of myself. The bike ran perfectly this season and the team has improved the Honda even further since last year. It's great that it worked out so early to win the championship, that takes the pressure off me. The track in Jauer didn't suit me that well at first and I was surprised that I was able to improve again on Sunday. The great atmosphere with the enthusiastic fans in Jauer played its part. However, the season is not over yet, we will try to win the team and manufacturer classification at the finale in Holzgerlingen, which I can't let go of,’ said a satisfied Max Nagl at the podium ceremony.

‘I'm delighted with this victory. It wasn't so easy for me today, as my tyre choice was geared towards the hard surface of the track and not the loose surface at the start. But I was able to get to the front quite quickly. After winning the second race, I knew that this was also possible in the third race. My driving felt good and I'm satisfied with having completed three solid runs,’ explained Cornelius Töndel on the podium.

Henry Jacobi thrills fans with first race win and overall podium of the season

After a number of setbacks this year, Henry Jacobi bounced back on Saturday with an emotional and hard-fought race win. To the delight of the spectators, he put Max Nagl under pressure for the entire race to overtake him on the last lap shortly after the pit lane and take his first race win of the season. In the second race, Jacobi came out of the first lap in midfield and improved to ninth place by the finish. In the third race, he took the lead from Nagl for a few laps before Töndel moved into the top position. With fifth place in the final race, Jacobi made it onto the overall podium for the first time this season behind Töndel and Nagl. Teresak and Koch rounded off the top five in Jauer.

‘On Saturday, I pushed the whole race to win. That was the highlight of my weekend. The chase to catch up in the second race also cost me a lot of energy, which meant I couldn't hold on to the lead for the whole race in the third race. To be on the overall podium here is very good for me, my team and the people around me,’ said an emotional Henry Jacobi.

In the standings, the duel for the runner-up spot behind Nagl has intensified. Koch is in second place ahead of Spies, who is ten points behind, and Jordi Tixier (F/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek), who has two points less. Adam Sterry (GB/Schmicker Racing) is in fifth place in the championship ahead of the season finale.

All races on both days of the event can be watched free of charge as re-livestreams from Saturday and Sunday or as individual races via the ADAC MX Masters playlist on the ADAC Motorsport YouTube channel.
