Fans at the ADAC MX Masters in Gaildorf were treated to glorious weather, excellent racing conditions and a great start to the weekend on Saturday. In the top class, Jordi Tixier (F/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek) claimed his first race win of the season. Nico Greutmann (CH/Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna) led from start to finish to take victory in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup at the track known as “Auf der Wacht”. ADAC MX Masters: Jordi Tixier’s barren run comes to an end

Injury-plagued Jordi Tixier was rewarded for his fighting spirit with victory in race one on Saturday in Gaildorf. The Frenchman showed how strong he is on a hard track as the LS2 Best Qualifier in the morning. Starting from pole position, he initially established himself in the top three before taking the lead after the first half of the race. He did so by overtaking Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team), who had previously passed Marcel Stauffer (A/Osicka MX Team) to take his place at the front of the field. One lap later, Tom Koch (D/Kosak Racing Team) moved into second place and set about trying to close in on Tixier. However, the Frenchman held onto his lead to take victory ahead of Koch, Ludwig, Adam Sterry (GB/Schmicker Racing) and championship leader Max Nagl (D/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek), who had crashed on the opening lap.

“It took me a few laps to find my rhythm, but then I just focussed on my own race and tried to keep the number of errors to a minimum. I am happy with my first win of the season,” said Tixier at the finish.

In the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Nico Greutmann sprinted to the Red Bull Holeshot ahead of Valentin Kees (D/Kosak Racing Team) and LS2 Best Qualifier Paul Bloy (D/Hegau Racing Team). Greutmann continuously extended his lead as the race progressed, while Kees controlled second place. As the race reached the halfway point, Leon Rudolph (D/Enduro Koch Racing) took third place from Bloy, who was then passed by Bradley Mesters (NL/Kosak Racing Team) on the final lap. Greutmann took victory ahead of Kees, Rudolph, Mesters and Bloy. In doing so, he extended his lead in the championship, as his closest rivals failed to pick up points: Dave Kooiker (NL/Schmicker Racing) retired with a broken chain with five laps remaining, while Maxime Grau (F/WZ-Racing KTM) was missing in Gaildorf due to an injury.

“That was a very good race and a lot of fun. I finally got off to a good start and was able to use my pace to fend off Valentin every time he put me under pressure. I have picked up plenty of points with that race,” said a delighted Nico Greutmann in the winner’s interview.

Fast starter Moritz Ernecker (A/HSV Ried Racing Team) took the Red Bull Holeshot in the first of the weekend’s two races. However, he soon lost the lead to Ryan Oppliger and crashed on lap two. Leo Diss-Fenard (F/KTM) inherited second place ahead of Lucas Leok (EST/Team #111). As the race progressed, Oppliger opened a lead of more than 17 seconds over his pursuers. Ernecker worked his way back to fourth place in the second half of the race, finishing ahead of Storm Maymann (DK/Maymann Motorsports) who rounded out the top five.

“I got away well, which is not usually the case, and soon took the lead. I really enjoyed today’s race and hope for more of the same tomorrow,” said a beaming Ryan Oppliger after the race.
