Starting grid for all races in 2025. Mandatory promotion scrapped and new prize structure introduced. Season finale in Holzgerlingen brought forward.
The 21st season of the ADAC MX Masters will feature a number of important changes. These include the abolishment of the previous mandatory promotion in all classes. As well as the established team competition, there will also be a junior team competition for the first time in 2025. The prize money structure is being amended, allowing bigger payouts at events. A clash in scheduling means the season finale in Holzgerlingen will now take place a week earlier, on 13th and 14th September 2025. Riders can register for the new season online from 23rd December 2024 at adac.de/mx-masters. Registration for teams opens on 1st February 2025.
Fans can look forward to an exciting season, with a host of top German riders taking on an international field. Defending champion Max Nagl (D) has confirmed that he will be back to defend his title in next year’s ADAC MX Masters. He will again line up for the Dörr Motorsport Triumph Racing Team. Jordi Tixier (F) and Jakub Teresak (CZ) have also announced that they will be starting in the series. Next season’s field will also feature such riders as Maximilian Spies (D), Noah Ludwig (D), Lukas Platt (D) and Tim Koch (D). Fans can already book tickets online for the first three events of the new season.
Rule changes
A number of important amendments to the regulations have been introduced for the 2025 season. In accordance with the requirements of the Motocross World Championship, the top three at the end of the season in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 now have the option to remain in their current class, provided they meet the age requirements. Only after winning the title for the second time are they obliged to step up to the next class.
To allow more equal opportunity, all the races in the new season will start with a standard grid, as in the World and European Championship. Another change is to the prize money. Thanks to a redistribution of the end-of-season prizes to financial prizes at each event, success in individual races will now be more greatly rewarded. Although the prize money for the championship is being rewarded, competitors can actually earn more prize money overall through the new structure.
The team competition will be joined by a new junior team competition, dedicated to promoting talented youngsters in the three junior classes. In the future, teams in both categories will receive prize money per event rather than at the end of the year.
Changes to the calendar in the ADAC MX Masters and DMX
Due to clashes in the international and national race calendar, the season finale of the ADAC MX Masters has been brought forward a week to 13th and 14th September. The final round of the DMX Solo classes in Thurm, originally planned for this date, has been moved to 27th and 28th September 2025. In the DMX Ladies competition, the event in Gräfetonna has been dropped and will now take place as part of the ADAC MX Masters event in Tensfeld on 19th and 20th July 2025.
