The Mühlner Motorsport driver was fastest in the qualifying for race one of the Prototype Cup Germany at the Nürburgring. An extremely close qualifying promises high tension for the race.

The qualifying for the Saturday race of the Prototype Cup Germany at the Nürburgring could hardly be surpassed in terms of suspense. In the last minutes of the session, there were countless improvements in lap times - and the positions in the lead changed again and again. When the chequered flag came out, the fastest time of 1:20.569 minutes was recorded for Donar Munding (20/Stuttgart) in the Duqueine D08 of the team Mühlner Motorsport, thus securing pole position for the crew.

"We were very fast throughout the whole qualifying. The track was getting better and better every minute. I was initially caught up in the lead, but on my last lap I pushed myself to the limit again, managed the corners well and was able to improve my time. So I am of course absolutely happy now. A pole position is always something special," said a beaming Munding, who shares the Duqueine with Matthias Lüthen (41/Hamburg).

With a gap of just 0.078 seconds behind, Oscar Tunjo (26/COL) set the second fastest time in the Duqueine of Rinaldi Racing. "I had some problems with the balance. But we secured a position on the front row of the grid. We are really happy about that. The gaps in the field are very small, so it will be an interesting race. Anything is possible. Our goal is to finish in the top three," says Tunjo, who will start together with Mateo Villagomez (19/ECU).

Third in the qualifying finished the Ligier JS P320 of Berkay Besler (23/TUR) and Marvin Dienst (25/Lampertheim, both Toksport WRT). Besler, who contested the qualifying, achieved a time of 1:20.685 minutes, which meant a difference of 0.116 seconds.

Just 0.273 seconds back was the Ligier of Mads Siljehaug (26/NOR) and Freddie Hunt (35/GBR, both Reiter Engineering) in fourth position. The Ginetta G61-LT-P3 of Axcil Jefferies (28/ZWE) and Maximilian Hackländer (32/Rüthen, both Konrad Motorsport) completed the top five. With cars from all of the three brands that are represented in the field in the top five, the Prototype Cup Germany once again featured an extremely varied and diverse line-up.
