The flying Dutch woman will start for BHK Motorsport at the coming race weekend in Assen. The team is also switching to the Duqueine D08.

In Courtney Crone (22/USA, Gebhardt Motorsport), Gabriela Jílková (28/CZE) and Belén García Espinar (23/ESP, both van Ommen Racing by DataLab), three female racing drivers have already plied their trade in the Prototype Cup Germany in 2023. That list is now set to grow by one at the coming race weekend, which takes place from 1st to 3rd September at TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. The latest woman to take her place on the grid is 28-year-old Beitske Visser (NLD), who will start for BHK Motorsport.

“I am very happy to have Beitske on board in the Prototype Cup Germany,” says team principal Francesco Dracone. “She has shown that she is fast and reliable in a sports car. The fact that she lives just 40 minutes from Assen is obviously a plus. She is definitely one of the fastest female racing drivers in the world.”

Having started out in karting, Beitske Visser’s launched her impressive career in the ADAC’s school for talented youngsters. She raced in the ADAC Formula Masters in 2012 and 2013, winning two races during that period. The Dutch woman later lined up in Formula Renault 3.5, the GTP series and the W Series, which allowed her to drive on the support programme for Formula 1. The switch to prototypes followed in 2020, when she started in an Oreca 07 in the LMP2 class of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2021, she focussed solely on the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) in an Oreca. Visser is now set to return to prototype racing in Assen.

“I received an E-mail from the BHK Motorsport team manager, asking whether I would like to test their LMP2 car in Monza – and immediately said yes,” says Bisser, describing how the contact came about. The result is now a first LMP3 outing in the Prototype Cup Germany, which is organised by the ADAC and Creventic, at the event in Assen. “It is a fast and flowing layout and the circuit, at which I made my motorsport debut,” says the Dutch woman, looking forward to racing at her home track.

Visser will share the cockpit with full-time BHK driver Elio Sperandio (18/CHE) in Assen. “He is a little shorter than me, so adjusting the seat will be a nice challenge,” she grins. BHK Motorsport will also line up with a new LMP3 car in Assen. The Ligier JS P320 they had previously been using suffered irreparable damage in a crash at the latest race weekend at the Norisring. The team will now run a brand-new Duqueine D08 in Assen.
