Prototype Cup Germany brings prototypes back to the Norisring. Events with the DTM and at the ADAC Racing Weekend.
In its second season, the Prototype Cup Germany starts at six events in Germany and the Netherlands, with each event featuring two races. Three race weekends are scheduled to share the bill with crowd-pulling DTM events, including an appearance at the highlight of the season at the Norisring. The remaining three race weekends will be held as part of ADAC Racing Weekends. The races in the Prototype Cup Germany, which is organised by the ADAC and Dutch agency Creventic, will remain independent. The DTM Endurance concept, which was presented in December, will no longer be pursued. All the races will be available to watch online in a free livestream at adac.de/motorsport and on YouTube.
The season begins from 28th to 30th April with the first ADAC Racing Weekend of 2023 in Hockenheim. This is followed by the DTM season-opener from 26th to 28th May at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The LMP3 prototypes also accompany the DTM to the Netherlands and the Zandvoort Formula 1 circuit from 23rd to 25th June. This is followed by a real highlight at the start of July: for the first time, the Prototype Cup Germany will line up at a street circuit, as prototypes return to the Norisring from 7th to 9th July.
The last time sports cars of this kind went racing in Nuremberg was in the ADAC Supercup in 1989. The ADAC Racing Weekend at TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands, another new track for the series, heralds the closing stages of the season from 1st to 3rd September. The finale will take place from 13th to 15th October as part of the ADAC Racing Weekend at the Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit.
As well as the six race weekends, there will also be a pre-season test on 22nd March 2023 in Mugello, Italy. Entries for the Prototype Cup Germany are possible now.
